Responsibilities:
- The Activity Specialist is responsible for designing and facilitating high-quality and engaging content-specific project-based learning experiences within a specific content area or specialization.
-The Activity Specialist will facilitate these learning experiences over the course of a semester, culminating in some type of interactive showcase by the participants.
-Activity Specialists will also attend all necessary meetings and training and work collaboratively with the Program Director and site leadership team to ensure a successful program that meets the needs of our youth.
Qualifications:
Current college student or graduate 18 years old or older.
Minimum two years of experience working with children and/or youth in your specialization in a professional setting Strong ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships with children, youth, families, and other stakeholders Motivated and passionate to work closely with children Strong supervision skills for elementary (or middle school or high school-aged youth) Works collaboratively with others Well organized with strict attention to detail Medical examination with TB shot Fingerprinting by the Department of Health (and Department of Education for school-based programs) 3 professional references Completion of 15 hours of professional development trainings within the first six months Must be available 3-4 days per week minimum from approximately 3-6 pm.
